Coast to Capital, Lila Delman Opens Providence Office

It was Providential.

Wayland Square in Providence was alive and lively after-hours, as Lila Delman Real Estate, the state's leading real estate firm, officially opened its sixth office, this one to serve the Providence area. This is the company's second new office in a eighteen months (think Block Island), and it is the first away from coastal areas. The boutique firm is known for multi-million dollar sales and celebrity clients (see www.newportseen.com/archived-news/uncaged-at-last-gray-craig-estate-sold-just-in-the-nic-of-time/ ) as well as its live beach cams on its website.

Now the firm has expanded inland, a pioneering move in the current real estate market. Supporters and friends of the firm traveled from Newport and New Jersey to toast the newest office. The Providence office's motto is "From Coast to Capital …..You're Home," shown on a wall poster and the event invitations.

Over 75 guests enjoyed friendly conversation, excellent hors d'oeuvres, watched the flat screen monitor for information about listings, and congratulated the firm's President, Melanie Delman, who said that "a Providence office has been on our radar for a long time." She didn't add that the office would be next to the L'Artisan bakery and cafe, with delicious smells wafting through the door.

Managing broker Gordon Dwan spoke with guests, and Bob Burke, restaurateur and owner of Pot au Feu restaurant waxed enthusiastic about Lila Delman's presence in Providence.

Seen were attorneys Mark Gertsacov and Ron Markoff, chic "Ladies of Lila" Susan Gustavson, Robin Nicholson, Karen Camp, and Catherine Gazder. The irrepressible Bob Burke regretted not bringing his saber to decapitate a bottle of champagne, as is the custom of Le Club de Saveurs.
