Designer to the Stars throws a Stellar Newport Christmas Party

Newport interior designer Ally Coulter, who has designed for Kyle McLachlan, the Hilfiger family, Ralph Lauren Home, and private clients at the elite Carnegie Abbey Club, brought a dash of Hollywood to Newport at her glamorous party at ACD design studio on Bellevue Avenue. The event was both chic and classic, with poinsettias, roses, candy canes, and small red, silver and green mirror-ball ornaments set before a tastefully trimmed tree. Guests sipped on Veuve Clicquot and mingled, as the film It's a Wonderful Life played silently in the background.

Mini lobster rolls, bruschetta, petit fours, cream puffs, and other delights were served by William Rose, of William's La Di Da Catering of Newport. Ally's partner, Will Sofrin, manned the elegant bar, fixing martinis in a James Bond-style bow tie. Children in party clothes added a familial touch to the gathering.

Also attending were owner of The Carnegie Abbey Club Brian O’Neill, celebrity realtor Melanie Delman, yachtsman Donald Tofias, Tom Fleming, attorney Brian Cunha, and Ruth Orthwein. Ms. Coulter created a beautiful setting for "getting in the holiday spirit", and sparkled herself as she greeted and entertained her guests.
