Carnegie Tower, 22 Majestic Stories, Creates Luxurious New Architectural and Design Standard

Carnegie Tower

Carnegie Abbey Club members, guests and homeowners of the new luxurious Carnegie Tower celebrated the grand opening of the most exclusive high-rise condominiums in the Northeast on Saturday, June 27, 2009.

The evening marked the latest achievement for Philadelphia developer Brian O’Neill, owner of the 400-acre Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, located just 20 minutes north of Newport.  The 22-story Tower features 79 one-and two-story luxury residences.

Designed by award-winning Burt Hill Architects in Boston, MA, the Tower’s elegant sand-white exterior is accented by seven-foot tall windows and private balconies.  First-floor amenities include a magnificent lobby featuring marble floors, raised-panel mahogany walls, a black Murano glass chandelier and high-speed/secure elevators providing direct access to 90% of the residences.

Among the Tower’s amenities are a private fitness center, fully-equipped business center, wireless Internet access (WiFi) available in most common areas and a sophisticated entry and elevator security system.

Each residence includes Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors, French

limestone kitchen floors and natural stone throughout the master baths.  Most residences feature fireplaces and all have granite countertops, Wolf cook tops, wall-mounted ovens, private balconies and terraces.

In addition to the 78 one– to four-bedroom residences ranging from $799,000 - $5,470,000, the Tower features a two-story 6,735 sq.ft. penthouse offered at $14.5 million.  This one-of-kind-residence, featuring 360-degree views of Narragansett Bay and Aquidneck Island, offers four bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two half baths and a luxurious chef’s kitchen.

The Penthouse also features 1,700 sq. ft. of outdoor space with four private balconies on the main level, an enclosed rooftop observatory with a wet bar and two outdoor terraces featuring a rooftop garden and 10-person Jacuzzi.

Other penthouse features include a library and study, formal dining room, spacious living room perfect for entertaining, and state-of-the-art media and electronics.

Adjacent to the Tower are 25 private beach-style cabanas, a 25-meter, three-lane lap pool, outdoor whirlpool spa and separate children’s wading pool.

The Carnegie Tower and Carnegie Abbey Club received two five-star rating awards in the 2008 International Property Awards competition sponsored by CNBC and The New York Times. In the Best High-rise Development category, Carnegie Abbey was one of only four in North and South America to receive a five-star rating.

In the Best Golf Development category, Carnegie Abbey was one of only five such developments in North and South America to receive a five-star rating and one of only two in the United States.

Tower residents will enjoy five-star concierge services which are a hallmark of living at Carnegie Abbey.  From private executive chef dining to arranging for golf, yachting, tennis, equestrian or private lessons for family members of all ages, every facet  of the Carnegie Abbey Club lifestyle will be available to Carnegie Tower residents.
